South Lakeland District Council pledges to support green businesses

SOUTH Lakeland District Council (SLDC) has strengthened its commitment to helping small businesses better manage their environmental impacts and reap the benefits of going green.

SLDC has increased its contribution to its partnership with Green Small Business (GSB) to offer a heavily subsidized deal for businesses to obtain environmental advice and certification.

GSB provides simplified environmental management systems and net zero support for small businesses.

Their Environmental Action Planning and Certification program, which includes a 12-month Green Small Business certification, usually costs from £299. SLDC pays 50% of these costs for South Lakeland businesses.

GSB’s Tim Maiden said: “Green Small Business offers you a simple, uncomplicated and inexpensive way to manage your small business’ environmental impacts with tailored environmental policies and plans, green certification and support to become a small business. net zero business. ”

The support package includes:

– A high-level but systematic review of the company’s environmental impacts (by videoconference or telephone);

– A draft action plan and environmental policy for the company, which you can adjust if necessary;

– 12 months of Green Small Business certification.
